MC Roga followed his ambition at the age of 8. Young Roga was devoted to the drums and played everything from Blues to Rock in local bands. When he became an adolescent, Roga fell in love with Hip Hop and started rapping to the words of his new heroes. He quickly mastered the skills, discovered that he was a natural at it and started to professionalize his talent.
When Roga was introduced to House music, he felt a connection like he had never felt before. His raw talent, acquired knowledge of music and mastered skills all fell into place and set the stage for a future Master of Ceremonies. After “just” taking the mic at Club Monza (Utrecht, Netherlands), Roga was discovered by Victor Coral and introduced to the organizers of Chemistry Club Night, who launched Roga as MC for their ‘RUSH’ concept.
Nowadays Roga has become a true artist; in his short career Roga has managed to work with the best of our country, such as; Benny Rodrigues, Roog, Erick E, Michel de Hey, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and many more. Meanwhile, his musical diversity has also been noticed by great international artists. Heroes like Erick Morillo, Sandy Rivera, Kenny Dope, D-Ramirez, Antoine Clamaran and many more have learned to appreciate everything this MC has to offer. His voice has improved the mood at great events such as Dirty Dutch, Mystery Land, Tomorrowland, Latin Village, Luxurush, FFWD and Dance Valley.
Roga's raw vocals can be heard on prominent radio shows hosted by DJs such as Tiësto, Sander van Doorn, Dennis Ruyer, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez and have won their warm support. Roga collaborates with promising newcomers Bart B More and Oliver Twist, who even gave him his first big hit with their production 'Do the monkey'. Followed by the even bigger house classic Underground, supported worldwide by countless radio jocks.
Currently, Roga is looking to innovate and is delivering with a new project called The Dudley Zoo, in collaboration with big housemate Oliver Twizt & Aime Cain. And beware of his shady passenger Beaumont Livingstone.
When asked about the secret to his success, Roga passionately answers: “Knowing when to be quiet and when to bring a crowd higher is just the beginning. MCing is a true art form rather than a skill for me. Of course, sharp timing is essential, but more than that, it comes down to a special feeling that merges the emotions of a crowd, a DJ and his music with a vocal burst of energy. Only when everything is right can that divine sensation happen. Capturing the hearts and minds of the people.” The energy that Roga puts in an MC class of his own promises a lot for the near future; be on the lookout for a stage with Roga near you and keep your eyes peeled for a new release with yours truly!
